The search for brands that are on the same wavelength as us, give the results we are looking for and whom we can give our trust. It is no easy task. When we commit we commit. We learn everything we can, we do all their courses, we even travel overseas to extract as much knowledge out of them as we can. We are like product vampires hee hee. We study, we question. We try them, we question. All so we can be ahead of the game and give you our clients the best advice possible. That is our commitment to you the client when it comes to the products we sell.
Why we chose our brand partners?
When it comes to skin care in my Beauty career I have trained and worked with over 20 brands. Some I liked but they didn’t survive a market that is wicked and some I don’t know how they survived (good marketing I guess).
Please remember as Beauty Therapists we are trained in Anatomy and Physiology 1st brands 2nd, so I was looking for something I could truly believe in. A company committed to not destroying the skin long term, will give results and enhance our well being. The beauty industry does have a reputation at times for causing mental health problems and seeming to be superficial and judgemental. I want to offer more than that and work with like minded brands and people because they are out there, we just have to find them. In 2013 I was introduced to Bioline Jato and here I found a company committed to being ethical, are passionate about our industry and enhancing what we have. A union of mind and body as well as science and nature right up our alley. I still watch the market but to date I am happy we have invested our time and money with Bioline as they have not let us down yet.
Our hair removal system and the homecare that go with it was another journey into the world of products we believe we have conquered. Traditionally we are all trained in waxing. In 2015 I discovered a new Brand of sugaring specialists that caught my attention and drew us in. Off as a team we went to train in this ancient form of hair removal with the Alexandria Professional sugaring experts. When we saw the results and how our skin felt we agreed we would never wax ourselves again. Then came the heartache of throwing away years of training and conditioning and starting fresh. We got our confidence up, left the waxing world and brought sugaring to our clients as we feel it is the best hair removal for the skin. Now we don’t even have a wax pot in the salon. We are sugar all the way.
On one of our product finding expeditions we discovered we had more to learn about manicures and pedicures. Something we did in our sleep but never thought we could make any better. How wrong we were. We discovered through our partnership with Margaret Dabbs of London the wonderful world of bunions, foot conditions and minor ingrown toenails. Guess what we have? Solutions and advice to give you on how to avoid them. This gives us more confidence and makes our manicures and pedicures extra special.
The world of products is never ending. Our searches and journeys will continue as long as I breathe because I love it. It is exciting and there is always something new. Those of you who know us and are reading this know that we work with many more wonderful brands than I haven’t mentioned here. The ones I have mentioned are all companies that we have worked with for many years and we hope our new brand partners will become a long term fixture on our shelves.
